Employer terms
English translation. If the two versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.
These terms apply between Abhinay Sinha (trade name Bridgefire Ventures, “we”), operator of the JapanSetu job-listing service (“the Service”), and each employer that posts a job (“Employer”).
1. The Service
- The Service publishes Employers’ job information and links to the Employer’s own application page, as a job information provision business (募集情報等提供事業) under Article 4(6) of the Employment Security Act.
- We do not provide job placement, staffing, or candidate introduction, recommendation or screening. Applications, selection, hiring decisions and employment contracts are solely between the Employer and the applicant.
- We never charge fees based on hiring outcomes (success fees), and we never charge job seekers.
2. Orders and review
- Employers order listings through our form, using a company email address.
- We review every listing before it goes live and may decline it or ask for changes if it does not meet these terms or the law. If we decline a listing, we refund it in full.
3. Employer responsibilities
- The Employer warrants that the listing is accurate and current, and complies with Articles 5-3 and 5-4 of the Employment Security Act (disclosure of working conditions; accurate job information), the Labor Policy Comprehensive Promotion Act, the Equal Employment Opportunity Act and other applicable laws.
- The Employer’s application page must state the working conditions, including duties, contract term, place of work, working hours, wages and social insurance.
- We do not accept listings that are false or misleading, unlawful, discriminate unreasonably by gender, age, nationality or similar, present freelance or contract work as employment, are against public order, or that we otherwise consider inappropriate.
- Tell us promptly when a role is filled or closed, or when its details change.
4. Listing period, fees and payment
- Listing periods, fees, payment method and timing, cancellation and refunds are as stated on the pricing page and in the Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice.
- We remove listings when their period ends or when we confirm the role has closed.
5. Ordering and dates
Featured listings (labelled “Featured”) appear first; all others are ordered by most recently updated. Each listing shows the date its information was last checked.
6. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove a listing without notice if we believe it breaks these terms or the law, if a complaint needs investigation, or for other unavoidable reasons.
7. Liability
- We do not guarantee any number of applications or hires.
- Except for our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for damage arising from the Service is limited to the fees we received for the listing concerned.
8. Anti-social forces
The Employer represents that it is not, and has no ties to, organised crime groups or other anti-social forces.
9. Personal information
We handle Employer contacts’ personal information under our privacy policy.
10. Changes
We may change these terms; changes take effect when posted on this page. If a change materially affects a live listing, we will email you in advance.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Japanese law. The Tokyo District Court (東京地方裁判所) has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
